Cultural Impact Assessment

PROPOSED MOUNT CASS WIND FARM. CULTURAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT REPORT. An assessment of effects on Ngai Tuahuriri and Ngai Tahu Values.

A good example of how a Cultural Impact Assessment may look.

This Cultural Impact Assessment (CIA) identifies and explains the values and practices of local Iwi for a proposed windfarm at Mount Cass, Canterbury. The CIA means that those values and practices can be taken in to account under the law. The assessment is comprehensive, and describes both the impact of the development on Iwi, while also giving recommendations to Council on how to lessen or avoid those impacts.
